Buyer’s Guide

How to choose the best 58 degree wedge

The wedge is the most important club in your bag because it determines whether you hit the ball long or short. In fact the wedge is responsible for almost half of the total distance traveled by a golf shot. So why does a golfer need a wedge? Because there are many different types of shots that require different degrees of loft. For example a straight drive requires no loft while a fade requires a high amount of loft.

There are two main ways to determine which type of wedge you need. First you can measure the angle between your face and the ground. Second you can check the loft of the wedge. Both methods give you the same results. However measuring the angle between your face and the ground is easier and faster.

Measure Angle Between Face & Ground

To measure the angle between your face and the ground stand behind the ball and hold the club parallel to the ground. Then take note of where the top of the shaft touches the ground. Now turn around and align the bottom edge of the sole plate with the line drawn on the ground. Next draw a perpendicular line across the sole plate. Finally divide the length of the perpendicular line into four equal parts. Each part represents 1/4th of the entire clubface.

Check Loft

Another way to figure out which type of wedge you need is to check the loft of the wedge. Check the number stamped on the head of the wedge. Most wedges range from 0-15 degrees. Anything above 15 degrees is considered a pitching wedge. Anything below 15 degrees is considered a sand wedge.

Types Of Wedges

Wedges fall into three categories based on the shape of the soleplate.

Sandwedge – Sand wedge has a flat soleplate. It is designed to be used on soft grassy areas.

Pitching Wedge – Pitching wedge has a rounded toe.

The Importance of Purchasing a Quality 58 Degree Wedge

Golfers who play regularly will tell you that there is nothing worse than hitting a bad shot. Whether you’re playing a round of 18 holes or just practicing your short game you want to be able to hit the ball consistently and with confidence. But sometimes despite your best efforts you still end up striking the ball poorly. In these situations you need to understand why certain shots go awry and learn ways to improve your swing. One way to ensure that you get the most out of your practice sessions is to invest in a good set of golf equipment. Here are three reasons why you should always opt for a high-quality set of golf clubs.

1) Better Accuracy

One of the biggest problems that golfers face is inconsistency. While many players struggle to strike the ball straight others manage to putt flawlessly. However no matter how hard you try you cannot control everything that happens during a round of golf. Sometimes you’ll hit a perfect drive only to see the ball land in someone else’s cup. Other times you’ll miss the green entirely because you didn’t take into account the wind direction. Regardless of whether you’re trying to sink a hole in one or just making par consistency is key. Investing in a quality set of golf clubs will allow you to achieve greater accuracy and consistency throughout your rounds.

2) More Power

Another reason why you should invest in a quality set of golf clubs is because they provide you with more power. As mentioned above you cannot control everything that happens during a round of golf. Even though you’ve practiced diligently you could still end up missing the fairway due to poor weather conditions or a sudden gust of wind. To avoid this problem you need to equip yourself with a set of golf clubs that give you maximum strength. With a higher level of power you’ll be able to generate enough force to overcome obstacles and reach the greens safely.

3) Less Frustration

Finally investing in a quality set of golf clubs will reduce frustration levels. Many golfers complain about feeling frustrated while swinging a club.

Features To Look For When Buying A Degree Wedge

The most important thing to look for when purchasing a golf club is the loft angle. The loft angle determines the amount of loft in the club head. Loft is measured in degrees. Most golfers start with a 60-degree wedge because it gives them enough distance to hit into the green. However if you’re hitting the ball too far you can increase the loft angle to 70 degrees to give you more control over where the ball goes.

There are many different types of wedges available today. Some are designed specifically for beginners while others are meant for advanced players. There are also hybrids which combine both woods and irons together. Each type has its own advantages and disadvantages. Here are some features to look for when choosing a wedge.

Loft Angle – How high above the ground does the face of the wedge point? The higher the loft the lower the center of gravity (CG) and the easier it is to swing the club.

Weight – Weight refers to the total weight of the club including the shaft. Lighter clubs are generally easier to swing and provide greater forgiveness.

Length – Length refers to the length of the club from the heel to the toe. Longer clubs allow you to get deeper into the sand.

Head Shape – Head shape refers to the design of the face of the clubhead. Different head shapes affect the way the ball reacts during impact.

Shaft Type – Shaft type refers to whether the shaft is solid or hollow. Hollow shafts are lighter and stronger than solid ones.

Grip Size – Grip size refers to the width of the grip around the handle. Grips vary in thickness depending on the manufacturer.

Club Face Material – Clubface material refers to the composition of the face of the club. Materials include steel titanium graphite composite and carbon fiber.

Different Types of Wedge

There are many different kinds of wedges available today. The most common type of wedge is the sand wedge which has a blade angle of between 60 degrees and 70 degrees. There are several variations of these wedges including the lob wedge gap wedge and hybrid wedge. Each of these wedges offers its own unique advantages and disadvantages depending upon the golfer’s skill level and playing style.

Sand Wedge

The sand wedge is probably the most popular wedge among beginners because it is easy to learn and play. Sand wedges are designed to be played close to the ground and are typically used for short shots around the green. Because of this sand wedges are generally considered easier to hit than higher lofted wedges. However due to the low loft of the sand wedge it tends to produce inconsistent results. For example the ball may fly straight and long or fade away completely.

Lob Wedge

The lob wedge is another commonly used wedge. Lob wedges are designed to be played high above the turf and are typically used for tee shot approach shots. Due to the height of the clubhead lob wedges are very forgiving and allow players to get the ball airborne quickly. However lob wedges require a lot of practice to master. Players must develop good hand-eye coordination and timing to consistently strike the ball solidly.

Gap Wedge

The gap wedge is a hybrid wedge that combines the forgiveness of a lob wedge with the control of a sand wedge. Gap wedges are designed to be played both low and high. As a result gap wedges provide excellent distance while still maintaining solid contact. Like the lob wedge gap wedges require a lot of practice to become proficient.

Hybrid Wedge

The hybrid wedge is a combination of two different styles of wedges. Hybrid wedges combine the forgiveness of a lob wedge with the accuracy of a sand wedge. Hybrids are ideal for intermediate players who wish to improve their game.
