Grizzly makes saw blades band saws circular saws jigsaws planers shapers sanders drills grinders lathes routers and more! Grizzly is known for its high-quality power tools and accessories.

The Ultimate Tool For Woodworking

Whether you’re building furniture cabinets toys or anything else a Grizzly bandsaw is the perfect tool for cutting wood. With a Grizzly bandsaw you can cut wood quickly and efficiently. There are two types of Grizzly bandsaws; the G0555 and the G0755. Both models include a 5 1/2 inch blade which is ideal for most projects. However the G0755 includes a 7 1/4 inch blade which is ideal for large projects.

Cutting Straight Lines

With a Grizzly bandsaw you can cut straight lines with ease. Because there is no wobble you can get precise cuts every time. To ensure accuracy Grizzly uses hardened steel teeth that are sharpened regularly. The teeth are ground into the blade using diamond grinding wheels. This ensures that each tooth is perfectly aligned and ready to cut.

Powerful Motor

The motor on a Grizzly bandsaw is powerful enough to handle heavy duty jobs. The motor is built with a 3 HP engine which is strong enough to cut through almost any type of material. The motor is enclosed within a cast iron housing which protects it from dust and moisture. The motor runs quietly which makes it easy to hear while working.

Easy Operation

Because the motor is enclosed within the housing it is very easy to operate. Simply pull back on the trigger lever push forward and release. The motor starts automatically once the trigger is released. Once the motor is running you can adjust the speed by turning the dial located on top of the housing.

Grizzly brand band saws are known for being high-quality tools that last long. However there are many different types of band saws available today. Which type of band saw is best suited for your needs? Here are three factors to consider when choosing a band saw.

Size

Band saws come in several different sizes. Some are designed for cutting large pieces of metal while others are designed for smaller projects. For example a small hand held band saw is perfect for hobbyists who wish to cut small parts. Larger band saws are ideal for professionals who require a higher level of precision. There are two main types of band saws; benchtop models and portable models. Benchtop models are typically stationary and cannot be moved around. Portable band saws are mobile and allow users to perform multiple functions including cutting sanding grinding drilling etc.

Power

Band saws come in both corded and battery powered versions. Corded power band saws provide greater control and accuracy. Battery powered band saws are easier to transport and operate. Both options are suitable for most applications.

Durability

Band saws are built to withstand heavy duty usage. Most band saws include a hardened steel blade which makes them durable enough to handle rough jobs. In addition band saw blades are replaceable. Therefore if you notice that your band saw blade has become dull you can quickly replace it.

Features

There are numerous features that distinguish each band saw. For instance some band saws have variable speed controls adjustable fences automatic depth adjustments and safety guards. Other features include dust collection systems LED lighting and ergonomic handles. All these features ensure that you get the right tool for the job.

Types of Bandsaws

There are four main types of band saws; circular saws reciprocating saws jigsaws and saber saws. Circular saws are the oldest type of band saws.

The Grizzly G0555B has been designed to be easy to operate and maintain. The saw features a large cast iron base which makes it stable and durable. The blade guard is removable and comes with a safety lock mechanism. The saw is equipped with a dust collection port and a tool-free blade change system. The saw is available in three different models; the G0555B G0556B and G0557B. All these models are powered by a 12V DC motor. The saw weighs around 30kg and measures approximately 1m x 2m x G0555B

This model is ideal for hobbyists who wish to build small projects. The saw is lightweight and portable making it suitable for DIY enthusiasts. The saw is equipped with a 3/8″ thick hardened steel band saw blade. The saw is fitted with a 5mm carbide tipped cutting edge. The saw is supplied with a 20cm long power cord and a 10 metre extension cable. The saw is backed by a two years warranty.

Grizzly G0556B

This model is ideal for professionals who require a high quality bandsaw. The saw is equipped with a 7/16″ thick hardened steel band saw blade. The saw is fitted with a 4mm carbide tipped cutting edge. The saw is supplied with a 15cm long power cord and a 25 metre extension cable. The saw is backed by a five years warranty.

Grizzly G0557B

This model is ideal for professional users who require a heavy duty bandsaw. The saw is equipped with a 9/16″ thick hardened steel band saw blade. The saw is fitted with a 6mm carbide tipped cutting edge. The saw is supplied with a 22cm long power cord and a 50 metre extension cable. The saw is backed by a ten years warranty.

Different Types of Grizzly Bandsaws

There are many different types of bandsaws available today. Some are designed specifically for cutting metal while others are meant for general purpose applications. The type of bandsaw you select depends on several factors including the material being cut the thickness of the stock and the amount of power needed to operate the saw. In addition there are two main categories of bandsaws – single action and double action. Single action bandsaws require only one handle to start and stop the blade whereas double action bandsaws require both handles to be pulled simultaneously to activate the blades.

Single Action Band Saw

The most common band saw design is the single action band saw. With these machines the user pulls the trigger once to begin operation and again to stop the blade. Most single action bandsaws are powered by electric motors which provide enough torque to drive the blade quickly. However because the motor must be turned off between cuts single action bandsaws generally run slower than double action models.

Double Action Band Saw

Another popular choice among users is the double action band saw. Double action bandsaws typically have higher horsepower ratings than single action models. Because the motor runs continuously during operation double action bandsaws produce faster speeds than single action models. However because the motor does not shut off between cuts double action bandsaws are prone to overheating and burnout problems.

Metal Cutting Applications

While bandsaws are primarily used for cutting metals they can also be used for cutting plastics and composites. For example plastic pipes can be cut using a bandsaw. Plastic pipe has a tendency to split along its length due to internal stresses caused by manufacturing processes. To avoid splitting bandsaws can be used to cut long lengths of pipe into shorter pieces. Similarly composite materials such as fiberglass reinforced polymers (FRP) can be cut using a bandsaw. FRPs are commonly used in boat hull construction and aircraft fuselages.
